La Caracola Beach House

La Caracola Beach House

DESIGN DESCRIPTION

YouTube Animation

Located on the Pacific coast within the Tres Vidas Golf Course, the house is composed of a series of articulated volumes oriented to frame panoramic views of the ocean and surrounding landscape. At its center, an expansive open space connects the ground-level deck to the swimming pool, establishing a continuous flow between interior and exterior living spaces.

The design dissolves the boundary between the private plot and the golf course, allowing the landscape to extend seamlessly into the architecture. The landscape strategy reinforces this connection through a grid of transversal lines that define vegetation planes and frame the built volumes.

The master bedroom is conceived as a singular architectural gesture: an elevated concrete tube supported by two rectangular columns, creating an observatory-like space with uninterrupted views. Shaded areas are carefully integrated to mitigate heat and humidity, ensuring comfort throughout outdoor spaces.

The pool area, finished with custom ceramic tiles designed by architect Greta Hauser, is treated as a continuous plane—almost a woven rug—adding a poetic layer to the landscape. The result is a calm, refined environment where contemporary architecture and nature are closely intertwined.
