DESIGN DESCRIPTION
The Lantern. Alberto Campillo is an art dealer who likes to stay at his home working on luminous afternoons. He enjoys the company of silence and the pleasure of a peaceful good reading. Recently, he had a little girl named Camila, and since then, there have been no more long, quiet afternoons. So he asked me to design him a new private and isolated room for his home. “La Linterna” (the lantern) is a 20-square-meter small studio on the rooftop of the house.
It faces a small and lonely street with an old big tree. The intimacy relies on the hidden sensation the tree gives, as well as the 8-inch-wide Venetian wooden blinds that limit the view.
