DESIGN DESCRIPTION
The Lantern. Alberto Campillo is an art dealer who likes to stay at his home working on luminous afternoons. He enjoys the company of silence and the pleasure of a good, peaceful read. Recently, he had a little girl named Camila, and since then, there have been no more long, quiet afternoons. So he asked me to design him a new private and isolated room for his home. “La Linterna” (the lantern) is a 20-square-meter studio on the rooftop of the house.
It faces a small, lonely street with an old, large tree. The intimacy relies on the tree’s hidden sensation, as well as the 8-inch-wide Venetian wooden blinds that limit the view.
