DESIGN DESCRIPTION
“El Huacal” is a wooden basket used to transport fruit and vegetables to Mexican markets. This petite project reclaims the space of a design backyard and a dark, cold, old studio.
We have reused this space to design a single square element that divides two sunny rooms, a small, gleaming bathroom, closet storage, and a new outdoor terrace. This original element also features a long bridge linking the main bedroom to the new area.
Made with “Cradle to Cradle” materials, “El Huacal” represents an effort to use existing conditions to create better indoor and outdoor living spaces.
