DESIGN DESCRIPTION
“El Huacal” is a wooden basket typically transporting fruit and vegetables to Mexican markets. This petite project reclaims the space of a design backyard and a dark, cold old studio.
We have reused this space to design a single square element that divides two sunny room spaces, a small gleaming bathroom, closet storage, and an outside new terrace. This original element also has a long bridge that links the main bedroom with the new area.
Made with “Cradle to Cradle” materials, “El Huacal” represents an effort to use existing conditions to create better indoor and outdoor living spaces.
